In 2012, the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama led an extensive process to identify the most pressing issues affecting the community’s economic climate and quality of life. As a result of the in-depth quantitative research and thorough gathering of qualitative feedback from dozens of community representatives, the Chamber developed an aggressive five-year strategic plan of action entitled Working As 1. This plan of serves as the Chamber’s blueprint for proactively addressing the issues identified through research and community feedback. The objectives of the strategic plan guide the annual program of work of the Chamber’s volunteer leadership and professional staff.
